Success Story of Shri Sham Lal Langer

Sh Sham Lal Langer Ex Vice President of Larsen and  Toubro retired from L&T on 24-12-2005. Sh Langer settled in Jammu and decided to venture into agriculture for the two main reasons. one that investment in agriculture is not high and second that he can continue this activity till his last days. Sh Langer with experience in  planning and management wanted the youth to realize that agriculture is the best profession and should feel a sense of pride in this profession. 

Sh Langer purchased a land of 6 kanals at Chapra in Marh Block in April 06. Sh langer also visited agriculture offices at talab tillo and sought guidance from the experts of the department in the art of cultivation.  In the words of Sh Langer he found the agriculture experts very eager, enthusiastic and sincere in imparting knowledge in agricultural techniques. 

Sh Langer on the advice of agriculture experts cultivated turmeric crop which turned out to be the best in the region. After this Sh langer started into mushroom cultivation with 200 trays and followed the instructions in mushroom cultivation provided by the department from time to time. Sh Langer also attended the training in mushroom cultivation conducted by the department during September, 06.  For a person who had never grown mushroom this training gave extreme confidence to him. Sh Langer has extended his thanks to the department for helping him in this venture which is fetching him an estimated amount of Rs 25,000/- to Rs 30,000/-per annum.
