Nandni Wildlife Sanctuary

Nandni Wildlife Sanctuary :

The sanctuary has an area of 33 sq.km. and has been named after nandni village located at a distance of 28 kms from Jammu.on NHIA. There is appreciable pheasant population.

General Information :

Approach : Airport Jammu (26 kms.)
Railhead Jammu (28 kms.)
Road Jammu/Srinagar ( 20/274 kms)
Area : 33.24 sq.kms
Accomodation : Check with wildlife warden
Fauna : There are about eight mammal species in the area. The main species are leopard, wildboar, rhesus monkey, garal, grey langur etc.
Avifauna : The common birds are Indian mynah, blue rock pigeon, peafowl, red jungle fowl, chir pheasants, chakor etc.
Visit : Mammal viewing

Dress : Spring/Summer Trekking Shoes , Raincoat, and light clothing
Winter Trekking shoes, medium/Heavy woolens, waterproof windcheaters.
