Farooq Abdullah on Friday slammed hardline Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani saying he would not react to his challenge. The Union minister, also former CM of J&K, made the remarks when asked to comment on Geelani's statement challenging him to repeat the speech he made in Parliament at Lal Chowk.

"Why should I react to Geelani's challenge? What's his locus-standi and who is he?"

A few days back during a debate in Lok Sabha, Abdullah had said those in Kashmir demanding azadi (independence) had not realised the consequences of such a demand.

"If he (Geelani) wants that Kashmir should go with Pakistan, I request him to go and live there. Kashmir will not go anywhere."

Asked to respond on the unrest in the Valley, he said, "You should not worry about Kashmir....Things will settle down soon."
