Barack Obama, the US president, who is on a three-day visit to India said during his election campaign the US would try to help resolve the Kashmir issue.
Separatists in the Indian-administered region are hoping he will show some support for their cause. But given the sensitive nature of the issue in the context of India-Pakistan rivalry, it is unlikely to be discussed during this trip.
