Asserting his government's resolve to ensure equitable development of all regions in Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said the demand for delimitation of assembly constituencies

will be discussed among the ruling coalition partners. "Your demand in this regard (constitution of

delimitation commission) will be discussed among the coalition partners (Congress and NC)," Omar told a delegation of Jammu and National Panthers Party legislators led MLA Harsh Dev Singh here last evening.

The Panthers Party legislators raised the issue of delimitation and demanded constitution of a delimitation commission "so as to rectify the imbalance in the allocation of assembly seats in the state".

They demanded suitable amendment in the Constitution for the purpose and equitable distribution of assembly seats among the three regions of the state.

Abdullah stressed his government's resolve and commitment for equitable distribution of resources and development of all the regions and sub-regions of Jammu & Kashmir.

During the hour long meeting with Panthers Party legislators Harshdev Singh, Balwant Mankotia, Yashpal Kundal and Syed Rafiq Shah, Omar assured them that their demands will be considered by the government and appropriate decisions will be taken in the larger interest of the state and its people.

The Chief Minister said that he is conscious of the deficiency of staff in the health and education sectors and the state government is working to fill the gaps in these important sectors.
