Mantalai associated with the marriage of Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati

Situated a few kilometers further away from Shud Mahadev, Mantalai is surrounded by lush deodar forests, at an altitude of over 2000 metres. It is believed that Lord Shiva had got married to the Goddess Parvati here.

Set in the Parvati Range, the Mantalai lake provides a trek's ideal objective. Starting from the piligrim town of Manikaran near Kasol, the trek winds up through the very scenic Parvati valley to the high altitude lake.

Mantalai is a legendary place located a few kilometers away from the Gauri Kund Spring in Jammu District of Jammu and Kashmir. Surrounded by lush deodar forests, the place lies at an altitude of 2000 m.

Legend says that the place is associated with the marriage of Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati.

Sudh Mahadev Temple, Krimchi and Patnitop are neighboring places of tourist interest.
